What and when is a drawdown?

The water level is drawn down from 20 feet to 11 feet by releasing water from Rodman Dam. The water is maintained at that level for approximately three months, which provides the State an opportunity to manage vegetation and sediments. Submersed vegetation is  exposed by the process and are conducted every 3-5 years.
